Privacy Policy

CapAtlas can be used without an account. We collect only the information needed to provide features you choose to use.

Guest use

When you use CapAtlas as a guest, saved places, preferences, alerts, and Buyer inputs are stored in your browser or app storage on that device. CapAtlas does not receive that local workspace through the account service.

Optional accounts and automatic sync

If you sign in, Supabase processes your email address and authentication session. Your profile choices, display preference, pinned metrics, saved places, alerts, comparison metrics, salary, and detailed Buyer inputs then sync automatically across your signed-in devices.

Home and address lookups

When you request address suggestions or a property lookup, the entered query may be sent through CapAtlas to the service needed to answer it, including Photon/OpenStreetMap, the US Census Geocoder, and, when configured, RentCast. Their own privacy terms apply to their processing.

How information is used

To sign you in and keep your CapAtlas workspace synchronized across devices.
To personalize affordability calculations and the app experience.
To return address suggestions and optional property facts you request.
To protect the service and diagnose operational failures.

CapAtlas does not sell personal information or use synced Buyer inputs for advertising.

Retention and control

Local data remains until you clear the app or browser storage. Synced workspace data remains while your account exists. You can sign out without deleting local data, or permanently delete the account and synced workspace from the Account screen.

Security and limitations

Authentication and synced workspace records are handled by Supabase with per-user database access rules. No online service can promise absolute security, so avoid entering information that is not needed for your analysis.

Changes

This policy may be updated as CapAtlas features or service providers change. The revision date above will be updated when that happens.
